On having good ideas
Good ideas rarely happen, in my experience, while sitting at a desk facing a computer. They happen, sometimes, with a few blank pages and a thick ink pen. Mostly, they happen when physically occupied and mentally free; during long showers, walks around the block or even when trying to sleep. They sometimes happen when stimulated by other ideas or after conversations.
Good ideas happen when I make time for them. But usually, I want them when I’m sitting at my desk.
